I know, hard to see me with all my camo gear on!! Taken at Wells-next-the-sea in 2006
Born in southern Africa, I have always had a passion for wildlife and the outdoors but never felt drawn to photograph these in any way. The fact that I moved to England at the age of ten probably contributed to that. I was possibly a bit young, and in any case, my Dad was the family and nature videographer with his Cine camera.
I bought an Olympus C50-50 to capture the early days of my son Connor and soon began to realise the possibilities of digital photography.
That was the beginning and I have never looked back after purchasing Canon DSLR equipment.
Working in IT, in the Education sector, I find that just being out and about, surrounded by nature, is the perfect way for me to relax. Getting opportunities to shoot a variety of wildlife is a bonus and such a buzz when the opportunity arises.
Work and a young family means my shooting time is very limited but I make the most of the time I have. My daughter Erin doesn't quite get the same photographic attention as her brother did due to my 500mm lens minimum focusing distance!!
